MEM-α

MEM α is a modified MEM medium. Compared to MEM medium, MEM α medium is more nutrient-rich, with added components such as NEAA, sodium pyruvate, zinc sulfate, VB12, biotin, and ascorbic acid based on MEM. It is widely used for the culture of various mammalian suspension and adherent cells. MEM α medium without nucleosides and deoxyribonucleosides is often used as a selection medium for DG44 and other DHFR-deficient cells.

This product contains various components required for cell culture, such as amino acids, vitamins, and inorganic salts, but it does not contain proteins, lipids, or any growth factors. Therefore, this product needs to be used with serum or serum-free additives.
