BANGKOK, THAILAND — 9 September 2026 — AuctuCel, in collaboration with the Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University, officially opened the AuctuCel Centre of Excellence (ศูนย์พัฒนาแพลตฟอร์มขั้นสูงสำหรับการผลิตอาหารเลี้ยงเซลล์), marking an important milestone in the company’s continued expansion across Asia.

The date held special significance for AuctuCel, as 9 September 2026 also marked exactly two years since the company’s incorporation.

Located at the Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University, the Centre strengthens AuctuCel’s presence in Thailand and brings the company closer to customers, partners and collaborators in the local biotechnology ecosystem. With a local base, AuctuCel aims to shorten product lead times to less than one month, helping customers access high-quality cell culture media faster and more reliably.

The Centre will support applications across stem cell culture, vaccine and biologics development, cell and gene therapy, and advanced bioprocessing. Beyond ready-to-use media solutions, AuctuCel will also work with research and industry partners on customised media development and optimisation, helping teams address specific cell culture and bioprocessing requirements.

“Our focus is to make sure customers can access high-quality media quickly and reliably,” said Dr Fhu Chee Wai, CEO and Co-founder of AuctuCel. “Being closer to the market allows us to respond faster, understand customer needs better and continue developing solutions that support the industry as it grows.”

Dr Zach Pang, Co-founder of AuctuCel, added: “The Centre gives us a stronger platform to support product development and customer needs in Thailand, while building closer collaboration with researchers, industry partners and customers.”

The opening was graced by Prof. Dr. Pranut Potiyaraj, Dean of the Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University, who delivered the opening remarks. Around 70 attendees joined the event, including professors, academics, biotechnology companies, regenerative medicine and health-tech representatives, customers, industry partners and collaborators.

Beyond serving as an operational base, AuctuCel envisions the Centre as a space for connection, collaboration and knowledge exchange. The company also plans to establish a simple culture media preparation workflow station for educational purposes, giving students greater exposure to biomanufacturing and helping them understand the role of cell culture media within the broader bioprocessing workflow.

To commemorate AuctuCel’s second anniversary, the team also created a dedicated timeline and feature walldocumenting the company’s journey over the past two years — from its beginnings in Singapore to its growing network of customers, partners and collaborators across Asia.

As AuctuCel enters its third year, the Thailand Centre of Excellence marks another step in its broader vision to build a more connected and responsive biomanufacturing network across Asia — bringing high-quality solutions closer to customers, shortening lead times and creating more opportunities for collaboration across the region.
